The Spencer (IA) High School wind ensemble under the direction of Kurt Schwarck and the Spencer Middle School Wind Ensemble under the direction of Janet Boyens has commissioned John to write two celebratory works for band. Premieres are scheduled for May 2023 in Spencer, IA.
